In late 2006, ITS began a project to improve the
quality of service to users whilst at the same time making
their lives a little easier.
The Internet is an integral part of Swinburne's
day to day operations, providing an essential (and heavily
utilised) resource to assist Swinburne staff and students
in learning, teaching, collaborating, research and administration.
This year, the Faculty of Life and Social Sciences
has increased the stakes in computer games development by
installing three labs of Alienware computers.
Commencing Semester 2 MS Office 2007 will replace
Microsoft Office 2002 and become part of our standard operating
environment (SOE) and will be installed on all desktops and
laptops within TAFE.
Information Technology Services (ITS) is the main
provider of IT related services to Swinburne, so it is critically
important that it provides the appropriate IT systems and
services to enable Swinburne to achieve its objectives.
During 2007 a pilot program called "Rover"
was run at the Hawthorn Campus Library. This program was a
joint effort of the Information Resources Group (IRG) and
Information Technology Services (ITS).
