The desktop phone for your pocket

As part of Swinburne’s on-going wireless project ITS are now offering departments the new CISCO 7920 portable wireless phone which is ideal for those who spend a lot of time moving around campus but still need to be able to keep in contact, without incurring the costs of using a mobile phone.

The 7920 is similar to your desktop phone, incorporating most of the functionality of your desktop phone, only portable and at a cost of $590.

Wireless networks on all Swinburne campuses enable this phone to be used at all campuses and can be used to call internally, at no charge, or external numbers at the standard call rate, thereby removing the need to constantly use your mobile phone…just like your desktop phone.

Once outside the campus perimeter, your wireless phone will cease to work until you are once again within any of Swinburne’s campus boundaries.

To order your CISCO 7920 portable wireless phone please complete the on-line Service Request Form and ITS will take care of the rest.
