Back in 2004 Swinburne University, along with all other Victorian Universities and CSIRO, set up a company to provide high speed connectivity to all Universities and CSIRO. That company was VERNET.
As highlighted in the August issue of Stay Connected, Swinburne is currently implementing an Identity Management (IdM) System that will, amongst other things, deliver fewer user names and passwords for Swinburne staff and students.
WILD is a three year program which aims to develop diversity in Swinburne's leadership, especially of womens' potential and management skills. With a core of about 20 participants, the program will provide opportunities to lead projects which will draw in and affect staff across Swinburne.
