IT Business Continuity Alignment Project

This project was established to ensure the alignment between the Disaster Recovery Plans of Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Business Continuity Plans of business units at Swinburne University of Technology .

The project incorporates a review of the current Disaster Recovery Plans of ITS, identifying the nature and level of service to be provided under various scenarios:

• identification of the critical business processes
• IT support requirements and interdependencies across the core business systems
• a business impact analysis that considers the implications of the loss of IT support for a period of time
• the backup and recovery strategies required at the business unit level
• the development or refinement of plans for resuming normal business operation.

It is expected that the project will be completed by November 2007 and will require the involvement of a number of business units.
