Oracle RAC Project

ITS is currently in the process of migrating all Oracle databases from their current versions to an Oracle 10g RAC cluster. Oracle RAC (Real Applications Cluster) will provide both fault tolerance and scalability for the Universities Oracle systems as well as enabling a number of new features and improved performance.

This work is being undertaken internally with the support of a number of consulting organisations and is scheduled for completion in 2007.
